Mindfulness is something that I try to practice in everyday life ...however I'm not always successful due to unnecessary pressures that I put on myself ...I am sure that we are all guilty of that.
As you know I live in a part of Ryedale that has been identified as a part of the national park...North York Moors and around this area there are a number of like minded people who actually want to enjoy the little things, such as appreciating nature and exploring creativity.
So myself an Lesley from Gumboots & Wellingtons, who offer rustic retreats in Ellerburn, have got together to offer a special mindfulness event to celebrate it in our part of the North York Moors National Park.
Your afternoon will start with a stroll from Ellerburn along towards Dalby Forest and winding in a loop to Thornton Le Dale.
The mindful walk will give you time to appreciate being in the present moment, surrounded by nature. We will amble at a slow pace to enable you to take in the beautiful scenery and find inspiration, taking photographs or collecting fallen leaves, small branches or other nature finds long the way.
On arrival at my studio there will be tea and cake followed by a lino printing workshop where you can use your photos or items you collected from the walk to create a unique lino block. You will then print a set of three cards using water based ink. The cards, ( with envelopes), can be taken away on the day.
A walk back to Ellerburn will end the afternoon, taking a more direct route this time, along a pretty country lane under a canopy of trees. A time for reflection and calm.
This is an event led by Lesley of Gumboots & Wellingtons Rustic Retreats and Hannah Turlington - Lino Printer and designer.
